Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard-The Sword of Summer
Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, by Rick Riordan, is a story about a boy who just turns 16. What he doesn't know is that his life is in danger. Surt, a fire giant, and two dark wolves are after him. The only way to protect himself is to renew the once known Sword of Summer. He dies in battle and is taken to Valhalla, where is to live forever. Later on, he is told he is the son of Frey. Now he must leave Valhalla to find the Sword of Summer once again in order to stop the unbinding of Fenris Wolf and prevent Doomsday for as long as he can. Will he succeed or will the world come to an end?
Magnus reminds me of my brother Jacob. Both work hard and sometimes have a hard time understanding what is going on. Also, Jacob is very social and loves to meet family he has not seen in a while. Magnus is also social but does not always like to meet family he hasn't seen for a while. When Magnus saw his uncle Randolph he wanted to strangle him but Jacob wants to spend all day playing with them.
I dislike Magnus right now because he usually doesn't know what is going on and is acting like a kid even thought he is 16. I was also surprised how the final battle ended with Surt being sucked back to Muspellhiem. I recommend reading this book and the series.
