Blog 3 The Death Cure

The book The Death Cure is full of action, adventure, and lots of surprises. This book has a lot of text to world connections and let me tell you why. In the book Thomas is in a facility and they only feed him the same thing everyday. Also Thomas is very stinky and he is working out in place. But finally the rat man told Thomas about how every thing lead up to having a cure for the flare. Somehow to Thomas that all makes sense because they brainwashed Thomas before he went into the maze. But now Thomas is getting fresh showers, New clothes, new shoes, and new everything.
This relates to real world because people brain wash other people into beveling into something that is not right. Such as terrorist group, they make their troops believe that some people did something wrong. Also take people that think that they are the best and no one else is better, and they brain wash the people to believe their gods. All in all their are a lot of people being brain washed and that related to my book because Thomas got brained washed to forget anything he saw but he keeps on getting random memories back.
This book surprised me because i thought the rat man was going to kill the team but he is going to give them their memories back. The other thing that surprised me is that the team doesn't want their memories back because their scared of what they will do to them. Lastly i recommend this book because it is full of surprises and it leaves you on the edge of your chair.

Text to Book-The False Prince

In The False Prince  three orphans are picked to become prince, the compete and learn how to become the king. In the end the orphan Sage becomes the prince only by his skill in rolling a coin across his knuckles. He then  makes demands and requests for his friends lives and freedoms that they call are not killed and they are safely brought with him to the place where he will become the king. He then frees them and saves their lives but at the cost of his master Connors anger.

This book is like the book sting when the must lie and be secretive to accomplish their/his goals. In the false prince Sage/Jaron must lie and be deceiving to become prince to save Carytha. When the main character in Sting has to sneak in the jewelry store to obtain the diamonds for his heist, he becomes just like Sage/Jaron. They both look similar, they both have blonde hair, brown eyes and mischievous faces and personalities. In the end they both are extremely similar in both physical and mental similarities.

Among The Hidden - Text To World

I read the book, Among The Hidden by Margret Peterson Haddix.  Among The Hidden is about the population law and how it effects the characters in the book.  The population law only allows couples to have two children. Some people in the story have had a third child.  The problem is that the third child has to be hidden to stay safe.  These children are called the shadow children.  If the government, or the citizens where to find these shadow children they would be killed.

Among The Hidden relates to real life in many ways.  One way is show by a law in China which prevents its' citizens from having more than one child.  Also, in Among The Hidden the mother of one of the shadow children works in a factory the same as the men.  During World War I many women did the same jobs as men would due to them being away at war.  Among The Hidden can be connected to real life because they have to make choices biased on what they can afford.

Among The Hidden is one of my favorite books for several reasons.  It relates to our lives in a variety of ways.  Whether it is things that occurred in our past, or in other countries it has many similarities.  I feel Margret Peterson Haddix might have been influenced by history.  I hope others can enjoy this wonderful series.

text to world three times lucky

Thomas Morin
p 2

three time lucky is a mystery and the main character Mo was born on strange things and they all call it different things but mo calls it her three times lucky because during her  birth was during one of the meanest hurricanes. then the first time lucky was when her upstream mother tied her to a makeshift raft and sent her swirling downstream to safety. the second time lucky was when colonel crashed his car a stumbled across mo. third time lucky when miss,Lana took her in.

these all could be just pure chance then their would be some thing like that could happen

now lets see the hurricane that did this to are main character Mo.
the great Galveston hurricane of 1900.
it was the deadliest hurricane to hit america.
it caused 8000 and 12000 deaths.
the hurricane got to Texas.

the kid who became president world vs. world

I am reading a new book called the kid became president. This book is about a boy named Judson Moon  who is in 6th grade and his friend named Lane had a cray idea, to run for president.Judson said yes but was joking but Lane was serious. Basically Lane and Judson are on a mission to make America great.
I can connect this to the world because it deals with politics. In the book they have debates. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/09/26/the-first-trump-clinton-presidential-debate-transcript-annotated/?utm_term=.ba6f8b7d5444 (I put this citation because  they have a presidential debates in the book. This also proves that in the real world we have presidential debates.
Another connection I can make is the paparazzi makes up lies to feed to the world and get money and it effected Judson Moons life. http://paparazziseffectoncelebrities.weebly.com/dont-distort-my-image.html (This proves that in the real life the paparazzi does make up lies and it does effect celebrities lives, just like it effects Judson in the book
In conclusion The kid who ran for President is very relate-able  to the real world. I make many connections with this book.

Echo- Text to World

I am reading a book called Echo by Pam Muñoz Ryan. This book starts with a young boy Otto (50 years before WW2) who decides to go into the forbidden woods just so he could win hide and go seek. He to pass the time decides to read a book about three princesses who were abandoned and he soon finds out the story is true and the three princesses's story hasn't ended and the only way to go back to their home in the castle is if only their souls leave the forbidden woods so they put their souls into a harmonica which takes a really long journey many years later. The magic harmonica is first found in Germany in 1933 by Fredierch Schmidt who instead of going to school works at a harmonica factory and his father is a jew-lover which gets Fredierch into trouble with the law then it switches to two boys in 1935 in Philadephia, USA. Michael and Franklin are Orphan brothers who are adopted by a rich/wealthy woman (Mrs. Sturbridge) who lost her son a few years earlier. Mrs. Sturbridge asked for a girl but got two boys back and was going to keep Franklin but not Michael because before her father had died he had changed his will that if Mrs. Sturbridge doesn't adopt a child within one year she would lose her wealth and money. So Michael makes a deal that if he joins the Hoxie Harmonica band he would leave Mrs. Sturbridge, so Mrs. Sturbridge agrees and he goes and buys a harmonica (it ends up being the magical one) and tries out for the Harmonica band.

This book relates to the real world because in the early  1940's Japanese people were sent to camps after the Pearl Harbor bombing. Americans were afraid there were Japanese spies that were going to attack again and they thought there were spies. Jewish Concentration camps were created by Hitler because of his hatred for Jewish people. This relates to Echo because this gives the point of view from Germany and what it was like and in America what it was like for the Japanese. Finally, I liked how it gave a certain point of view from the fictional characters in this historical fiction book.

In Conclusion, Echo is a 4 part story with a harmonica that travels from Trossigen, Germany where Fredierch Schmidt donated it to an Orphanage in Pennsylvania. Then Michael Flannery after being adopted donated it to Ivy Lopez in Fresno California. Then she gave it Kenny Yamamato an  air force soldier who barley survived world war 2. This book talks about world war 2 but with fictional characters. Finally, this book makes me think about how bad it was for the soldiers and the Jewish in World War 2.

insurgent text to world

The book i'm doing is Insurgent which is the second book in the divergent series. The divergent series is by Veronica Roth. This book, insurgent is about, the divergent, the divergent are a few out of many people who live in chicago. The divergent are few out of many who can do certain things that others can't such as know what they are saying or doing during the simulations. The divergent have more than one faction, which they have to keep a secret so no others besides close friends that can be trusted can know that they are divergent. Being divergent can be deadly because most fear them and since they can do things others can't people can use death against them to get the divergent to do things.

The problem is that the government is a bad government. The government in Insurgent doesn't care about the people they care about the power especially Jeanine. Jeanine is probably one of the most feared people because of her power. She uses her power to an advantage so she can make people do what she wants. This reminds me of the world because some of our governments are like Jeanine and the government in this world can do the things Jeanine does. https://www.thenation.com/article/why-is-venezuela-in-crisis/

I noticed how many connections a book can have with the real world. I wish that these governments were better. I'm not sure if these governments would change in a good way. This part was very realistic because it happened in real life. I felt sad when the governments weren't doing the right thing.

The Rise and the Fall of Darth Vader

I just started this book and I am already in love and my true nerd is coming out. This book is set only two years after Vader tells Luke his most famous line "Luke I am your father" at Cloud City. It starts out in the prologue with Darth Vader having a nightmare about him at his private fortress on planet Vujin and  Emperor Palpatine is suppose to dead, but comes back when Vader and Luke Skywalker are planning to take over the galaxy together. Emperor Palpatine then lights Vader on fire and that is when he wakes up in his meditation chamber. The first chapter is with young Anikin and his mother Shin Skywalker being taken to Guardila Hutt who is the main slave trader on the planet Tattoine.
I can connect this book to a real life problem that happened in the past which is slavery. This connects because in the book anikin and shin get traded away because the are slave in the galaxy when we in America have had slavery before. They also are able to trade them just like what we did in America which was a horrible practice in this country. The main character Darth Vader or Anakin  Skywalker reminds me of Hitler or Stalin because of what they did and Darth Vader is a person who wants to wipe out every every rebel in the galaxy or if the the are part of the galactic republic. This is a website all on slavery and it's history on how it affected america now and how it affected america then https://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~arihuang/academic/abg/slavery/history.html
I have began to wonder if this book will only focus on the parts of the movies with Darth Vader or the parts that we have never seen. This story teaches about how want of power and control can change your life and how you can become a Sith Lord. I was surprised to read that this book tells us about from all the way back when Anakin Skywalker was a kid. Although I am only in the first few chapters this book has been so cool already and I can tell it will be a great book.

Where the Red Fern Grows-Text to World

In my last post with Where the Red Fern Grows, I ended with how Rubin Prtitchard got hurt from and ax. This all happened because him and his brother Rainie made a bet with Billy and his Grandpa. What really happened was when Rubin took the ax from Billy to kill his dogs, Billy took it away from him and threw it on the ground. The reason why Rubin took the ax away from Billy was because Billy's hounds were killing Rubin's long lost dog that he lost a while ago. Since it's dark outside Rubin didn't know where he was going. Unfortunately, he tripped over the ax and fell on top of the blade. The blade of the ax went into his stomach, which caused him to die the next day. A few days after Rubin's death, Billy's Grandpa told Billy about a championship coon hunt. Billy decided to enter, but he had to get his dad to come. That evening, after dinner, Billy asked his dad. His dad was worried because all of the chores wouldn't get done without him. His mom said " I will take care of the chores. You don't have to worry about me and the girls. We'll be just fine." Then, Billy's father finally said yes. From there, they went to the coon hunt and got ready for the hunts. Little Ann was entered in a presentation contest and won! She was up against the best hound there. Then, the four of them went on their day to hunt and got three coons. That put them in the lead. During the coon hunt, Little Ann and Old Dan were hunting down a coon, they suddenly get lost, so Billy, Papa, and Grandpa have to find them in a storm! A massive blizzard hits and makes it more difficult to find the hounds. They found Little Ann and Old Dan and finally went back to camp safe and sound. They were able to get shelter and continue with the hunt.

The problem in the story is similar to world events that happen everywhere. The problem is that when Billy left the ax on the ground, Rubin never knew it was there because it is dark outside, but it wasn't Billy's fault that Rubin fell on it because Rubin was trying to kill Billy's hounds. Once Billy took away the ax, he was trying to find a safe place for his ax t sit where no one could find it, but was not successful. This relates to world wide problems because many people all over the world leave dangerous things where they shouldn't have and many people, including kids, can get seriously hurt because of the many people who are no responsible for their things. This problem is very similar to situations that happen all around the world.

I began to think why Wilson Rawls would put something so violent in his book that is supposed to be graceful and adventurous. I can't believe Rubin died such a horrible death. Getting stabbed in the stomach fro falling on an ax is not something you hear or see everyday. I'm not sure why the "police" at the time didn't really do anything do help Rubin's family or do anything to Billy's family. I wish that Rubin never died. I just wish that he got hurt and still lived, than die a horrible death. Even though he is a jerk and a horrible kid to be around, he still mattered and you never know what his parents are going through to try to get over his death. After the accident I began to think of Rubin's mother and father. Imagine how they feel knowing their child is gone because of an unintentional ax accident. I also began to think about Rainie to because his brother is dead. Imagine how he feels nit having a best friend, not having someone to play with, and not having someone to be by his side when he needs it.

Thank you for reading my blogs and I hope you enjoyed reading about Where the Red Fern Grows. I also hope you find it so interesting that you read Where the Red Fern Grows.

Escaping the Giant Wave- Text to Wold #3

I am currently almost done with the book Escaping the Giant Wave by Peg Kehret. Escaping the Giant Wave is about a Thirteen year old boy named Kyle, while Kyle thought spending a vacation on the Oregon coast with his family would be great. The best thing was he'd never flown before, and he'd never seen the Pacific Ocean. One evening Kyle was left in charge of his younger sister, BeeBee, while his parents attended an adults only Salesman of the Year dinner on an elegant yacht. Then an earthquake came and started a fire in their hotel!

As Kyle and BeeBee fought their way out the smoke and flames, Kyle remembered the sign at the beach that said "after an earthquake everyone should go uphill and inland, as far from the ocean as possible." "Giant tsunami waves three or four stories high can ride in from the sea and engulf anyone who doesn't escape fast enough." When Kyle and BeeBee fled uphill a tsunami crashed over the beach, the hotel, and the town. The giant wave charged straight up the hillside and through the woods where some of the children were running for their lives. While Kyle and BeeBee ran up the hill they met an elderly couple who had saw the sign too, but the only thing is it is they seem very suspicious on the way there doing things.

In the book Escaping the Giant Wave an earthquake happen and after a tsunami, I can relate to this in the real world because in 2011 a devastating earth quake and tsunami struck Japan sadly taking the lives of over 15,000 people. It was one of the most deadly tsunami in the world and one of the top five earthquakes ever to happen. Although the earthquake and tsunami in the book are not as bad as the one in real life it still took the lives of many.

When I first saw this book I thought that this book was going to be boring and not detailed.  I thought wrong. Escaping The Giant Wave is one of the most detailed books I've ever read. I absolutely recommend this book because of its well explaining, its wonderful details, and its explaining.

Sting

Sting is a book that shows why friendship is more important than gold and that relates to political and world issues. Friendship will last longer than any jewel and shows true virtue and devotion to others. How this relates to worldly experiences is how people usually think that being rich is the most important thing they have but they probably have something way more valuable a good friend. All of the leaders of the world have to respect each other or wars start.  http://www.friendships.org/

Sting also talks about the effects of crime. As crimes of murder and robberies go up families are shaken. Crime is not okay and in Sting March talks about his father Alfie and how he was murdered that relates to how crime can happen to anybody on any day. That is  why we have  officers to protect us from crime.            .https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/az/surprise/crime

Another thing they talked about in Sting is stereotyping. People stereo type people as crazy, evil, disgusting, and thieves a lot in Sting. In order to have world peace we have got make an effort to understand each other. That is why there is war and destruction in countries people do not care to understand each other and that has to change. http://sites.tufts.edu/reinventingpeace/

Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard-The Hammer of Thor:Text to World

Magnus Chase and The Gods of Asgard-The Hammer of Thor, by Rick Riordan, is a story about Magnus living a normal life after defeating Surt and binding Fenris Wolf until word gets out in the nine worlds that Thor has lost his hammer to a giant named Tyer. Now Magnus and his friends must retrieve the hammer before it is too late and Loki is released.

The problem in this book is similar to gender identification in the real world because most people can change their gender that confuses many people who call them a man or women when they are not. How this book is similar to history because in it there is war, fighting, and the good side usually wins. This is close to the same as what is going on today with our wars and a lot of death.

I love the way how there are many text to world connections in this book. Also, I am not a fan of Thrym. At some points he is kind but is mostly angry. He has had many elders named Thrym so you have to repeat the name multiple times. This book overall was great and is a great read.

The Boy at the Top of the Mountain - text to world

The boy at the Top of the Mountain by John Boyne is about a little boy named Pierrot that has to go through a lot in his young age. His parents died when he was only seven years old and he was left with with no one else in Paris, so he was sent off to an orphanage where two sisters took care of him until he got adopted. When he got adopted, he figured out that it was his aunt that adopted him, that he had never met that lived in Austria working for the master of the German side during the Holocaust. When he got to the masters house he thought that it was going to be like his life back in Paris, but it wasn't. As he got older his life was changing fast and he was starting to act more like Hitler, the master of the German side. His actions weren't right and they ended up hurting some people, then he was left alone in the Bergdorf by himself when Hitler died and there was no one else living there. After the war was over he was captured by Americans and was taken to a camp where he was set straight and went back to live in Paris where he was born.

This book relates to the Holocaust because it is a fictional book that takes place during that time in Austria. The Boy at the Top of the Mountain has to do with World War II and what was happening between the Jewish people and the German side. Pierrot the main character in the book lives with Hitler while he is barking orders and trying to win in the war. Hitler in this book is taking away the rights of the people in many different places, and is capturing them, and torturing  them just like he was doing in the Holocaust. In the book it also related to this historic event because one of the children that Pierrot would hang out with as a young kid went into hiding just like some of the other people did in the real world event.

I like the way the author uses the real life event and turns it into a creative fictional story about how a little boy has to go through all this at a young age. It made me think of how this impacted so many people's lives in the real world. It makes me feel bad that this was an actual event that people had to go through and suffer from. This story teaches us that we shouldn't change for anyone and we should stand up for our rights. It also teaches us that we should stay strong and not let anyone tell us that we aren't capable of doing something.

ERAGON #3

In eragon, eragon and saphira are found stealing for there own personal deeds such as food and saddles. This relates to the real world because many people are found these days on the streets stealing from others as stated in this website https://www.2knowmyself.com/How_to_prevent_stealing .This is my problem in my book to this degree.
In my next chapter murder is ram pad on the mean streets of alaegasiea. This relates to the real world because murder is a big thing now as stated here in scholastic http://teacher.scholastic.com/professional/bruceperry/why_violence.htm

the boy at the top of the mounatn

The boy at the top of the mountain by john boyne connects to the world because the holicost happens in the wold history  and in the book. The book has a different point of view the boy works for Hitler because his family died and we went into a orphanage The few years later he got adopted by his aunt that he never knew about . Later in the book he i working for Hitler and he is Hitlers favorite . But something bad happens  his aunt dies and she is his last family member left.
The book connects  to the world because the holicost was a bad thing that happen burning time and people died and it was like that in the story. this carter remind me of Hitler now because he has gotten meaner seance  the beginning if the book. in the book there is a bunch of family dieting and people going to camps and the fuhrer is taking joes and every thing bad.

The Selection Text to World Blog 3

Keira Cass wrote an amazing book series called The Selection. America Singer goes through a lot of emotional changes. She is currently entered in the Selection where she may or may not be chosen to be the prince's wife. America can't decide if she even desires to be the princess. Unlike the other girls, she is happy with her life now and doesn't really want to marry the prince. America becomes good friends with the prince and thinks that it wouldn't be a bad thing to become the princess. Part of the reason she feels like this is because her family needs the money. Obviously, living in the palace means that her family would have a lot more money than before. America is a teenage girl who will do whatever she can to provide for her family. To her, it is important that her family has money because their caste is 5. There are 8 different "castes", 8's being servants, and 1's being royalty. Since America and her family are 5's, they need all the money they can get, and living in the palace will surely take care of that.

Throughout the book, it talks a little bit about issues throughout the world, such as world hunger. The Selection talks about how the lower castes sometimes run out of food and water completely. This relates to the world because a lot of people face the same problem. Sometimes, they are unable to work and earn money to provide for their family. One of America's closest friends is struggling to get food and money. Things like this unfortunately happen in the world all the time. Lots of people around the world work so hard so that they can provide for their families, just like America Singer did.

I loved this book because it was so exciting. There is something new happening in every single chapter. One minute, America is dragging herself through the Selection. Just after, she is close to marrying the prince. America feels a lot of emotion, and as I read the book, I feel those emotions as well. I also loved this book series because I could connect to the main character in a lot of ways. This was an awesome book series for someone who likes science fiction, and I definitely recommend it.

The kid that ran for president/ world

I am reading the book The Kid That Ran  for President by Dan Gutman. So far in thus book a guy name moon is running for president. Their are many challenge he faces to try to be president by the money he has to get. Moon try to get sponsors but many business owners didn't believe that he was running because he was only 12 years old. Finally he got a sponsor to meet him the next day in his office at 10 am. Moon had his first lady.vice president , and Representative already picked out to back him up.
I can relate The book The Kid That Became President to the world because many people want to become president. All of the presidents in us history all had to faces many challenges to be able to be elected. so his happens in the book and in real life so i can relate that to this article from https://newsela.com/articles/overview-how-the-us-elects-presidents/id/21066/. This is a very important book because their are so many things in it that can relate to me,friend and the world.
In conclusion I loved this book after all even  though it was boring in some parts. I convince you to read this book any other books from this author.

Ellie's Story- Blog 3

I am reading the book Ellie's Story  by W. Bruce Cameron. The genre of this book is Fiction. This book is about a young puppy named Ellie that lives with her owner Jakob and she is cared for and loved by him. Whenever he leaves for work she misses him and always wants to be around him. One day Ellie was going to "work" with Jacob. He was training her to smell things and to find where  people where. On the next day, Ellie had a scary dream about a mysterious boy drowning, but she couldn't save him. From then on she has been training and finding people.

This story so far connects to the world because lots of people train dogs to become obidiant and search dogs. "The air scent dog is the type most frequently encountered. This dog finds lost people by picking up traces of human scent that are drifting in the air." http://www.ussartf.org/dogs_search_rescue.htm. Jakob has been also training Ellie to find things just like an "Air Dog".  Ellie is being trained to be a search and rescue dog, but she is not ready and it takes time just like for most dogs.

I really like this book so far. It is very adventurous, funny, and heart warming.Although I am not very close to finishing the book, it is already very exciting. I recommend reading this book if you love heart warming books. Especially if you love dogs you should definitely read the book. If you read this book you would love it from the beginning to the end.

The Giver Text To World

The book "The Giver"relates to the world  because we both have a world and we all have rules and they both have rules and fight about what we should and shouldn't do and it relates because not all states and other county  are perfect because we all have war and natural weather such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods
The problems in "The Giver" is similar to a current situation because people are trying to work on self driving cars and making more advanced technology and people are try to get out of the state because it is dangerous or they don't like the weather so they go to another country were there is no war.

The Scorch Trials- Blog #3

This book, The Scorch Trials by James Dashner has only continued to get better. After the Gladers reached the outskirts of the town they encountered a huge, life threatening storm. There was blazing wind and giant thunderbolts striking down every other second. About half of the Gladers made it to the building they were trying to reach. Many people either got lost, shocked to death or burned to a crisp like Minho, but, luckily Thomas helped him put out the flames and get back to the safety of the building. Once they made it there a crank called Jorge and his crew came down to ask them what they were doing and they struck a deal, if the Cranks escorted the Gladers to the safe haven which the rat man told them to go to then the Cranks could have the cure. As they went to refuel of food an explosion blocked them into the tunnels which they were eating in. The Gladers and Jorge went off one way and Brenda and Thomas got separated from them. As the couple were running through the Underneath (the abandoned subway tunnels which were infested with Cranks that were past the Gone) they got chased by a group of way past Gone cranks that had no noses, they wanted to take Thomas and Brenda's nose. The two hid in a small crevasse and eventually got found by the crank and were forced to kill the crank or get killed. Thomas was the one that had to kill the crank and this action really ate at Thomas's continence. Thomas was going crazy in all of these dark tunnels and was done with it, he wanted to go outside no matter how dangerous it was out there. As they were sneaking through the town, they got forced into a party of cranks that weren't fully gone at gunpoint. They were fed a drink at gunpoint and during this time Brenda went in to kiss Thomas therefore confirming all of the hints that she loves him and Thomas breaks her heart by telling her she could never be Teresa. When they woke up they had the most painstaking headache imaginable and were tied to chairs with duct tape by the people who had forced them into the town at gunpoint. They wanted Thomas because there are towns all over the city that say he is the real leader in big bold printed letters. When a ruckus breaks out upstairs the 3 cranks go up to see what's going on and when the door opens, Minho and the other Gladers were there to save him.  They get out of the building and Thomas is shot in his shoulder and taken by W.I.C.K.E.D. to get help because he learned that this was not a variable, a gun should not have been in the city of cranks.
The Scorch Trials is sort of like a rat maze but instead of rats, it is humans that are being tested. "Rats have been used in experimental mazes since at least the early 20th century. Thousands of studies have examined how rats run different types of mazes, from T-mazes to radial arm mazes to water mazes. These maze studies are used to study spatial learning and memory in rats. Maze studies helped uncover general principles about learning that can be applied to many species, including humans. Today, mazes are used to determine whether different treatments or conditions affect learning and memory in rats." (Rats and Mazes). The "rat maze" has different variables to see how the rats will solve problems much like way W.I.C.K.E.D. is throwing variables at the Gladers to see how they react to collect data on the cure.
I wish that he would find Teresa soon and that she will be of good help. I hope that he will not have been mind washed by W.I.C.K.E.D because I really like Thomas and Teresa as a couple. If she doesn't love Thomas anymore I wonder how Thomas will react and if this is all a part of the killzone patterns that will try to push Thomas and the others further for whatever W.I.C.K.E.D. is trying to gain research for.

a series of unfortune events

The book i'm reading is A series of unfortunate events. The author of this book is lemony snicket. My story is about Baudelaire orphans that are traveling along this most displeasing road. After the fire, the siblings were sent to live with a distant relative named Count Olaf.A terrible greedy man,the parents had left behind an enormous fortune. He was caught just in time, but he escaped and vowed to get a hold of the Baudelaire fortune sometime in the future. The grim river and the horseradish factory were only the first of the sequence. They had no way of knowing,of course. The three orphans parents passed away in a terrible fire.                                                                                                                                                                         This character reminds me of somebody I know because my 10th passed away by a gunshot.
This character reminds me of me because this book has details.

This situation reminds me of a similar situation because it's the best book.

This scene reminds me of a similar scene because there's more books about it.

This character looks like uncle Monty or Dr. Montgomery.

I felt sad when the orphans parents passed away because my 10th cousin passed away by a gunshot.

Scrorch Trials, Blog 2

Since the last time i blogged about the scorch trials there is many new things. Sense  then the characters jumped into the portal that takes them to where the scorch is. There are these big metal molten balls that attach to peoples heads and they burn them. Two of the graders have been killed by the metal balls. But Winston was getting attacked by one and Thomas pulled it off of Winston head. Winston had lots of burns and scars after they got it off and Winston hair was gone. They have gotten out of the pitch black tunnel and it took a while for their eyes to adjust to the sun. The heat was unbearable so they had to use bed sheets to cover the sun so they don't get sun burns. While they were walking they saw two figures running after them. They all got in their battle stances when they came. The people that approached them were cranks, they haven't been fully infected with the flare but they were team B. And if you dont remember in the last blog Thomas had a tattoo on him that said "To be killed by team B."
This book reminds me of the book Hunger Games Because they are trying to survive in a broken down world and challenging their opponents. This is also similar to the hunger games because they are being shot at and explosions were going off. They're in a team and they work together and get into problems but they fix them together. This book reminds me of Hunger Games because They have a group of people that are against the team and they want to either kill them or use them. Lastly the book reminds me of hunger games because they are all put in a place where you have to survive and fend for yourself.
I began to think someone in the group would get infected and go after the rest of the group. I also wonder why the cranks that ran for them wernt attacking them. I was supprised that Tomas didnt say anything when the people approached him. I thought he would either ask a lot of questions.

Deep and Dark and Dangerous-blog 2-text to text

I am currently still reading the book Deep and Dark and Dangerous by Mary Downing Hahn. As you know in my last blog, Ali was determined to find out what happened to this mysterious girl in the photograph she found in the attic. Going off of what I have read in the book, Ali and her younger cousin Emma have met a young girl named Sissy who likes to play in the sand. After weeks and weeks, Sissy decided to play the board game Candy Land. After pulling it out Emma soon realized there was a name in each corner of the game. There names were on the game Mommy, Clair, Dulcie and Teresa. Ali then found out who the mystery girl was. After finding the board game Sissy ran back into the mountains where she claimed her house was. When Ali and Emma went to go show Dulcie what they had only to find Dulcie sitting in paint with all of her paintings ruined. Someone had broken in and destroyed everything, but Dulcie didn’t care because she claims they weren’t good enough anyway.

Later that day when everyone gathered for lunch, Emma couldn’t be found. Ali had found Emma with Sissy holding a doll. Sissy said the dolls name was Edith. After Ali had shouted, "I found her". Dulcie had run outside and saw the doll. She immediately ripped it out of Emma’s hand and threw into the lake. Emma soon got mad and slapped Dulcie in the face and ran to her room and skipped diner. After Ali and Dulcie finished dinner, Emma came down stairs and apologized for sneaking out and hitting her mom. The next morning Emma woke up sick and Dulcie took Emma to the doctor. When they got back Emma fell asleep on the couch, but when Ali went to go get some crackers Sissy was there.  She told Sissy to get out and Sissy left the house and told Ali to follow her.  As Sissy started to speed up so did Ali eventually until Ali lost Sissy but found a graver yard. There had been a red jacket lying on a tombstone. Ali stared at it and got curious but then thought she saw a glimpse of Sissy so she ran towards it. There laid the tomb that said here lays our beloved sister Teresa Apollo.

On the way home, Ali found a house she had never seen before and she was sure it had to be Sissy. So she walked to the front door knocked and Mrs. Trent answered. She was surprised to she her old first grade teacher at the lake. Mrs. Trent let Ali inside due to the heavy rainfall. After an hour had passed Mrs. Trent’s phone rang. It was Dulcie, but there was one thing, you could tell she was mad!  When Ali asked her why she was so mad Dulcie replied, “Where is Emma!” “She is gone, her window is open and my grandfather's canoe is missing. Are you with her?” She asked. Ali replied, “The last time I saw her was when you took her to the doctors. I've been here at Miss Trent's house the whole time.” Then Dulcie hung up with a bitter fire rage. Ali had realized there was one thing for sure and Emma was missing!

In the book, The Westing Game's and Deep and Dark and Dangerous the two characters Turtle and Sissy are much alike. They would both put themselves before others, have terrible behavior and are very spoiled. Turtle and Sissy have actually done the same things before such as manipulate other characters in the book, defraud them and beating people.

Before I started reading Deep and Dark and Dangerous I thought that I wouldn't like this book because of they way it looked. However, I have learned not to judge a book by its cover. While the cover is interesting, I also thought the book was going to be terrible just because of the over all summary. Despite that, I still tried the book and ended up loving it. Especially how the book is worded and explained. Over all Deep and Dark and Dangerous is a wonderful book to read and I definitely recommend reading it.

Magnus Chase and The gods of Asgard-The Hammer of Thor: Text to Text

I am reading Magnus Chase and The gods of Asgard-The Hammer of Thor, by Rick Riordan. In this book, Magnus is living a normal life after defeating Surt and binding Fenris Wolf until word gets out in the nine worlds that Thor has lost his hammer to a giant named Tyer. Now Magnus and his friends must retrieve the hammer before it is too late.

Sam is similar to Willa from The City of Orphans because both are brave and know how to fight. Also, both are girls so they get nervous about things and always have time to do something they love. When Magnus is chasing an enemy through Boston, it reminds me when a gang was chasing a newspaper boy through an alley in The City of Orphans.

I love the way the book is written with all the action and the cliffhangers per chapter. Many parts of this book made me think of everyday life and I recomend you reading this book.

The Boy at the Top of the Mountain - text to text

The Boy at the Top of the Mountain by John Boyne is about a little boy that has a rough life at the age of only 7 years old. Both his parents died with in only a few weeks of each other and he was left with no one else's to care for him in Paris. He was then put into an orphanage and was looked after by two very sweet sisters. Then he was adopted by his aunt Beatrix that he had never met before, that lived in Austria at the master for the German sides house. When he got up there he wasn't really able to act like himself because he was so used to living in Paris it was hard to Change for the people around him. Now he has to learn the usual routine and is working for the master.

I can relate my book to Number the Stars because they both have to do with young kids that are living through the holocaust. In my book the boy that lives with the master of the German side has a friend that he can't write to because he wanted to keep him safe. In the other book the little girl is having to escape from the land to get her friend to a safe place so the Germans won't be able to catch her. They both are struggling to let their friends go because they are not going to be able to see they for a long time and are having to let go of someone very important to them.

In both books I thought it was sad that they had to leave their friends, but at the same time I thought it was sweet how they were doing anything they could to keep their friends safe. The books tell stories about things that took place during the holocaust. Books about the holocaust could prevent something like this to happen again in the future. My book connects to many other book, but I found that this was one of the best books to connect it to.

Scat- Text to Text

Scat  By Carl Hiaasen is about two students at Truman Schools named Nick and Marta who decide to investigate the disappearance of their mean biology teacher Mrs. Starch and think Smoke the class troublemaker is involved with it. Turns out Smoke is involved with it but not in the way they think. They find out that the day of the Black Vine Swamp fire Twilly a rich man living in the woods asked Mrs. Starch when she went back for Libby's medicine to take care of a baby panther that lost his mother. The only clues Twilly has that points that the mother panther is still in Black Vine Swamp is a pile of poop.  So Nick and Marta help Twilly, Mrs. Starch, and Smoke find the mother Panther which puts them all in danger.

This book reminds me of the movie A Bug's Life  , because Flik the main character teams up with unwanted circus bugs to stop the evil grasshopper that wants to eat all the ants so he can rule the entire village. Nick, Marta, Twilly, and Mrs. Starch want to stop Red Diamond oil company from takin over section 22 which belongs to the state of Florida. These two stories have a similar plot which is the hero always saves the town and the villain goes to jail or dies. Although A Bugs Life is more fantasy than realistic fiction it is still Similar to Scat because both these stories have heroic plot lines. Lastly, Flik, Marta, and Nick are similar because they all have dangerous tasks they have to do to save something they love.

In Conclusion, I noticed Nick, Marta, and Flik's story plot lines are similar because they have a hero and something that needs saving. In this case Flik's village of ants is in danger from the evil grasshoppers. Nick and Marta need to help a baby panther find his mother who was scared off by someone in a gun. This made me think how similar fantasy and realistic fiction can be. Finally, I believe polar opposite genres are similar in different ways you wouldn't imagine.

Eragon #2

This time in Eragon we are met with a character named Sloan which is usually mean and salty. I would compare him with peta from the hunger games because he is serious and moderately mean. Eragon this chapter though is worried about saphira his dragon which is like trixie for her bunny. Eragon is usually never like this which is weird for him cause of his overall serious.
Eragon in chapter 8 is a bit dumb and easily tricked like jack in the magic treehouse. Eragon is also becoming a bit smarter at the end in turn becoming more inteigent

A Series of Unfortunate Events (TV Series 2017– ) - IMDb
The book I am reading is Insurgent. Insurgent is written by Veronica Roth. Veronica has written other books that connect with Insurgent such as Divergent, Allegiant, Allegiant 2, and Four. Insurgent is about the main character Tris trying to overcome the challenges in her life especially known as being, divergent. She has to live with the struggle of witnessing her parents deaths and her best fried wills death. Wills death wasn't any regular death because she caused the death to happen herself.Since she is divergent the government uses her to do certain things that others can't. Being divergent is like having this special power that you cant really hide especially during simulations because only the divergent know what is going on during the simulation and know how to control what they are going to do or say.
This reminds me of stranger things because the divergent have special "powers" and in stranger things eleven has brain powers. They both remind me of each other because the government uses elevens powers to an advantage because nobody else has her special power and the government uses Tris because since she is divergent they use her for certain things that they need done that regular people can't do. Eleven reminds me of Tris because she isn't afraid or protecting herself. A scene that Stranger Things reminds me of is when the government has Eleven they use her powers to break things, and do things with her mind and when the government gets Tris they put her through a simulation that most can't complete and that's why the government needed her.
I began to think that Insurgent  and Stranger Things have many things in common.I love the way how these two things have so much in common.I observed that Tris and eleven have many things in common.I felt sad when the government used them for an advantage.I began to think of other shows and movies that have several things in common to insurgent.I'm not sure if I like the movie insurgent or Stranger Things the T.V show better.I wish that there were more Stranger Things shows, and more divergent series movies.

number of the stars to the boy at the top of the mountain.

I am comparing the boy at the top of the mountain the to the number of the stars. Thy are both about the holicost but in a different point of view. my book the main carter is Hitler favorite but in the number of the stars  Hitler wants to take hear to consintrthe ashon camp because she is juish but she stars with friend the gets  away with it. My book is about a boy named patriot and he is a Yong boy and is paints died when he was seven years old. He went to orphinige and the he got adopted by his aunt Beatrix that he has never met. they go to work for Hitler and stay is his home. the holicost  has bin going on for a year and patriot is eight years old and still working for Hitler. he is Hitlers favorite out of all of the kids and people.
this carter rimes me of ellon because she did not get taking away and Perot works for Hitler. the carters rimed me of each other because the both survive during  the holicost.  they both have seen the holicost and the paints die.

The Scorch Trials- Blog #2

I am reading The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. As you know, it is the second book of a 5 book series. On my last blog, we figured our that Teresa´s memory had been wiped. After they figured this out, they found tattoos marking them as W.I.C.K.E.D.´s property and marking their roles that they were meant to take on. The spooky thing is that they realized Teresa´s marked her as the betrayer and Thomas´s marked him as to be killed by group B. Later, a man that resembles a rat is in the common room, he tells the Gladers that they are going to go through hard trials and that they need to do it because if they don´t, they will die from the flare virus (the virus that turned the Cranks into the Cranks) if they don´t finish what W.I.C.K.E.D. wants them to do, they will become a crank. Or at least that is what the man said. At the end of his speech he told them that they would have to leave through the flat trans early in the morning and that reality is never as it seems. They left through the flat trans early in the morning with backpacks made of sheets filled with food, water and extra clothes for their journeys. When they entered the flat trans, everything was pitch black and they figured out how to journey in the narrow hallway without falling over each other. During their journey they were faced with an old man telling them to go back or they would be sliced. Since they were told that things may not be as they seemed they chose to listen to the rat man and decide to keep moving. Because they keep moving this "molten" ball of steel keeps trying to cut off their heads, they lost two people to this monster. Once they find the opening, they are able to have some light and they figure out that the steel ball has been devouring peoples' heads. It almost takes Winston, but, Thomas saves him. Winston comes out with horrible burns, but at least he is still alive. The next thing to do is to go through the barren dessert land outside of the dark hallway. When they arrived outside, it was unbearably bright and hot, they were struggling to breath. When they started heading North towards what looked like a town and got bigger as they came closer, turning into the size of a city, they took occasional food and water breaks, all as the rat man told them to do. As they got closer to the town they saw two people running towards them, as they neared, it became apparent that they were both cranks that were intelligent unlike the cranks that had been screaming in their window just a few days ago. They informed the Gladers that there are more cranks but not all of them are past Gone. They tell them that they will all die from the flare and so will the other group. As they continue, they hear a girl screaming as if she is being killed or tortured. As they near a shack they see a girl pop out of it and the screaming stops. Thomas insists on going alone hoping that it was Teresa and it ended up being her. She had a terrified look on her face like the one Gally had on when he was being controlled by W.I.C.K.E.D. She tells him to run after they kiss, it was as if she was resisting W.I.C.K.E.D's control and broke free to warn them. They run and run for a long time until they reached the distant city.

Thomas and Teresa are much like Katniss and Gale from the Hunger Games. They respond to problems much like each other in the fact that they would do anything for the other. Thomas and Katniss are much alike because they are the main characters that are from a similar type of science fiction story- the teenagers/young adults rise above the greater force and fight for what is right no matter what the cost. Whereas Teresa and Gale are the other, less dominate main character. It is obvious that there is a love interest between these two couples, but, the only difference is is that Katniss has two boys to choose from whereas Thomas only has one girl that he loves. In most other ways these couples are very similar in their thought process and reactions to the problems in their world.

It is still a mystery why the Cranks said that not all of the cranks are past Gone and that they would have to learn to differentiate between the two if they want to stay alive. I can't wait until they get to the broken down city and see what is waiting for they. Will it be group B, the Cranks, or both?

The Thief and the Beanstalk

This book is fill to the end of the page with all sorts of mystery, action, adventure, and suspense. So far the book has had a trader braking into a fortress and a giant beanstalk growing. Its happening just like jack and the beanstalk. The main character Nick has encountered 2 people in giant land he met the man who originally gave Jack the beans and the giants nice wife who is a prisoner to her own sons. His goal now is to either free the nice giant or take gold for himself.
This book reminds me of The Lightning Thief because of a boar like thing that attacks Percy and in this book a giant boar attacks nick. There is also a lot of different mythical characters that can do extraordinary things. One other way these books connect is both books have at least one thing from the past that affects them in the future and has a major impact on the stories. Nick is exactly like Percy Jackson because they are the same age and according to the books the same looks. They also make the same little mistakes which causes catastrophic events.
In the fist few chapters in which I started to read this book I began to think that this was not that great of a choice for a book. Now after the first 5-6 chapters this book is a real page turner and it also has great action. A thing that I am really sad about is a giantess (a girl giant) is kept prisoner by her own children and I just hope that my kids don't do that to me. If I was put in a scenario like Nick I would slay all the giants ,save the nice giantess and then take all the gold, and maybe somewhere in the middle grab a sandwich. My last thoughts to you are I really take the time to read tis book because I am not lying when I say this is on heck of a book.

Sting

Sting is a book written by Jude Watson and is very unique because a thief is the main character. It talks about March and his sister Jules and how they steal to make a living. It is really ironic that a antagonist is the main character. The book shows March as a very hot headed person but has a true heart of gold. His attitude and courage can get the gang places even though he can hold grudges. He reminds me of how Raphael on ninja turtles means no harm but often causes trouble for the team.

March also reminds me of a hero ANT MAN he wanted to steal for a living but unlike March he winds up becoming a hero instead of a villain. At man has a lot of the traits march has leadership, aggressiveness and heart but they both have to prove they can be leaders.
Another character in sting is Jules Marches sister she is very mad at her father like we all can be sometimes but she forgives him.

Sting is a very good book and you do not have to get deep into it to get action like the Hardy Boys. It shows how friendship is more important than the rarest Jule I rate this book 9/10 because of how it relates to reality. I hope you read Sting because of all of these things. It shows you how hard life can be if you have no guidance but with family you'll push through.

Murder At Midnight #2- Text To Text

I am still reading Murder At Midnight . The part of the book I am reading right now so far is, that Fabrizio has found mysterious papers that talk about a plan to take over the king. Fabrizio was curious and asked some people if he could see them. When the people gave them to him. He was caught holding the papers and it looked like he was passing them out. He was sent to the king to be executed and his master was sent to jail. He escaped from the king and tried to help his master escape but, he went in the wrong jail cell and met a girl named Maria all covered in ink.  That gave him a hint that she was probably the one that printed the papers. Maria told him that her parents were the ones who printed them. Fabrizio and Maria escaped together and became friends. Later on, they realized that the man who arrested them (DeLaBina) was murdered. Then, they all go to find the person that killed DeLaBina.

Fabrizio reminds me of the character Claudia form the book From The Mixed Up Files Of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. Because they are both very brave and hard working. They care for others so that they can be accepted by their peers. At first their peers both didn't show much appreciation, but they were eventually appreciated. In both of the stories they both go on a crazy adventure too.

I like the story Murder At Midnight a lot because it is so adventurous and suspenseful. I feel like a lot of people would like the book too. Even though  I am very close to the ending of this book, I still can't predict what the ending of this book will be. This book has cliffhangers in every chapter and it is so fun to read! I recommend reading this book if you are into the genre mystery and historical fiction.

The Hunger Games blog 2

The Hunger Games
By: Ramsin Shawil

The Hunger Games , by Suzanne Collins, is a story about a corrupt government that chooses a boy and a girl from each district so they can put them in a arena to fight to the death. Katniss Everdeen is a girl who's father died when she was young and had to take care of her family. She has a sister named Primrose and her mother Mrs. Everdeen. On the reaping day, which is when the boy and the girl is chosen, Katniss's sister Primrose was chosen. But Katniss couldn't let her go to the hunger games so she volunteered for her instead. The boy who was chosen was Peeta Mellark, he was the son of a local baker in district 12. When they enter the games they team up to take down the other tributes. At the end their plan succeeds and they become victors.

The Hunger Games  reminds me of the book Divergent because in both book the government is always controlling the people. They also have a similarity because they both take place in the future and have similar technology. The Hunger Games also reminds me of the movie Gladiator because in both worlds people are forced to fight to the death instead of living a peaceful life. Gladiator also had a similar type of government because they gave nothing to the poor and forced them to slavery.

If I were Katniss at this point, I would train my hardest to try to win because that is the only chance that I'm going to see my family again. I would also try to unite a team during the games instead of going by myself. I was also confused why Katniss's Dad died. I thought there was supposed to be a warning that the mine might explode or be unstable.

The Demigod Diares-Text to text

I'm reading The Demigod Diaries by Rick Riordan and I can connect this to The Lightning Thief ,by Rick Riordan, by several factors. One factor is the setting because they are the same in both books. Some of the characters in the books are the same. One last factor is that they are written by the same author. These are some of the amazing ways these books are the same.

First, these books are similar because of the setting sometimes. In The Lightning Thief one of the setting are New York. In the book The Demigod Diaries one of the settings are New York. These books also have some of the same characters like Percy and Anabeth. Also these books were written by the same author who is name Rick Riordan.

Rick Riordan is a magnificent author of both of these books. I feel this helps to carry the same theme of both books. I enjoy both books so much its hard to pick a favorite. I feel anyone reads the first book they wont be able to stop until they read the whole series.

pursued #2

I am reading the book Pursued  by Jerry B Jenkins. The series is called left behind they have 16 books in that series. Someone made a movie out of the whole series and called "Left Behind ". I can make a big connection to the movie because the line plot and the theme is the same. The plot line in the book is that hundredths and millions of people disappeared and they don't know why. The plot line in the movie is when god comes back and takes everyone to heaven. Then when they come back they all turn christian and stay that way for the rest of there other life. I love this book and that movie.
I can connect the movie left behind to the book pursed because to the movie left behind because  they  have the same plot line but different actors and different actions to make the book more interesting. The plot line in both the  books and the movie is: millions of people disappear and some are left behind and they have no idea why.
In conclusion both of these  books/ movies are very interesting and i hope you watch/ read it!

Where the Red Fern Grows- Text to Text

My last post was about how I could connect with Where the Red Fern Grows in my personal life and I hope you enjoyed it. This time I am relating Where the Red Fern Grows with another text. I am able to compare Where the Red Fern Grows with many movies and texts. What has happened recently in the book is Billy was able to cut down the big sycamore tree to get the coon down and kill it. The next week Billy, Old Dan, and Little Ann go hunting, but conflict strikes. Little Ann falls in the icy cold river and is drowning by the minute. Billy has no hope and thinks she is gone. Then, Billy prays and figures out what to do to save his dog. He finally figures out what to do. He goes into the water and gets a big fishing pole to attach to Little Ann's collar. After minutes and Minutes of trying to attach the pole to her collar, he finally gets it under the leather and is able to pull her to safety. At first they were all numb, but were able to warm up by the fire. Oh, and don't forget Old Dan. He tries to help his sister too. He tries to pull up her collar to help Billy get the pole under easier. Than, one day the Pritchard boys come to Billy's Grandpa's store and make a bet with him that he and his dogs can get the ghost coon that lives near them, they get two dollars. Now I know you might be wondering "That is not enough", but back then, two dollars was a lot of money. They were unsuccessful though, because the Pritchard boys found their lost dog and Billy's dogs almost killed him. Unfortunately, Rubin got hurt with ax and it was very bad.

This scene reminds me of a similar scene in the book in My Side of the Mountain because Sam saves a hawk from danger in the forest. Much like how Billy saves his hound from danger in the forest. The danger in My Side of the Mountain are hunters because the scene is the forest and it's hunting season. The danger in Where the Red Fern Grows is Little Ann is drowning in the cold river. Fortunately, Billy and Sam both save their animals from the danger that lies ahead. The character Sam is like Billy because both are brave are brave boys who both share a love for the forest. They both know what they want to do and they both have  the courage to take on any task at hand.

This story teaches so many life lessons. For example, "Never give up", "Try your best", and "Always have faith." These apply to everyone's life everyday. I wonder why Billy's Grandpa would take the bet from the Pritchard boys about Billy's hounds hunting the ghost coon. I thought he was all about no bets and you can do anything you can dream of. I observed the Pritchard boys and it seems like they are kind of rich and they own a lot of things. If I were Billy I would not take the bet because I would already know that my hounds are the best and they can get the ghost coon. The character I most admire is Little Ann because she might be little, but she's fierce, just like me. She is tough, fierce, and strong and no body can stand in her way. She is the character I most admire.

Stargazer / Lighting Thief

I am reading the book Stargazer  by Patrick Carman, and I can relate that book with  Percy Jackson and The Lightening Thief  by Rick Riordan. The summery of Stargazer so far is  this is a adventure book that many characters put their life after others. Also at first they are stuck on the sea. Their is a under the sea monster that they are  trying to figure out what it is and what it wants. They try to fight the monsters but the monster is to powerful for some of the humans. They also get across the see to try to find different nonhuman creatures. After a tragic attack many people get stuck in a boat with no food or water because of the monster. They have no choice but to try to fight to get off of the boat and on to safety. The summary of the Lighting Thief is Chrion  the head of camp, sends Percy  quest zeus ( a Greek God). stolen lighting bolt everyone things its a Poseidon the god of the sea, stole the lightening bolt.  During the quest Percy learns that Poseidon is his father.
Percy Jackson in the Lightening thief reminds me of my friend Amanda because Percy is brave and so is Amanda.  In Stargazer  Alexis is such a dare person and so am I if you tell me to do something I  will cause I am such a dare person. I love doing dares but some I will back out of if they can kill me. I can connect Miranda to Percy in The Lightening Thief   because he likes being a leader and so does Miranda. I can relate The lightening Thief to me because i am just a outgoing person and I will never stop until I finish my job. Stargazer and The lightening Thief are connected to the world by fights and crimes that happen all the time. In Stargazer getting stuck in the sea happens in real life about every day in different places, and in The Lightening Thief  committing  crimes haven everyday in life so they relate to the world.
I love the way I hated the two books at the beginning but at the middle and end I fell in love with the two books because they went from boring to amazing in details.  I love these books and their authors I think you guys should read these two books and or read a book from the authors.

three times luck blog #2 :)

Thomas Morin
chapter 1 characters
the characters that i have met so far is Mo,Dale,miss.Rose,Jesse,miss.Lana are so far the only the characters.
the first chapter,
the first chapter was just a intro to the characters.
chapter 2 for-site,
i think that this chapter the mistery began so at the first page of the book it said that Mr,Jesse  is dead but in the first chapter he seemed alive so he must die in chapter 2 or 3
the main character is ....
mo and i think mo is a girl because he/she blushes a lot when a  a male talks to he/she except Dale she/he didn't blush with him or she/he did but i forgot and if i seem stupid for not knowing the main character gender someone may be think it say it in the first chapter but i don't remember if it did sorry for going doing a inter paragraph over the main characters gender.

The Selection Text to Text Blog 2

The Selection by Kiera Cass is a book about a girl named America Singer. She goes through a lot of emotions in the book and also goes through a lot of hard times. America gets persuaded to enter her name into a drawing. The drawing randomly picks thirty-five girls that get to live at the palace until the prince selects one of them to be his wife. America gets chosen and has ups and downs throughout her whole visit at the palace.

I can relate this book to a different book I read called Red Queen. The main characters are both forced to go to a place that is completely unfamiliar to them. They have such a hard time adjusting and get very homesick. America and the main character of Red Queen, Mare, always feel like they don't fit in. They face many problems and bumps along the way, but end up having a great experience.

In this book, I loved it when America shows emotions and feelings because it makes it seem like you are really there when you read the book. Whenever America felt sad or depressed, it started to make me feel sad. If something really amazing happened to America, I would feel very happy and excited. At certain points of the book, I felt like I could predict what would happen next. When I kept reading, the plot turned out to be completely different from what I expected. That is one of the reasons why I love this book series. It is so unpredictable and exciting, and I never know what's going to happen next.

Things that go bump In the night text to text

The scene remind me of the movie goosebumps because it talked about what the monsters do and how they existed it is similar to things that go bump in the night because they both have monsters and they each have the same character that try to stop the monsters and they ended up stopping them and they are both in the some situation.
The character is like my 10 year old cousin in things that go bump in the night because he believes in clown wondering in the woods and he thinks that they are coming for him and it was actually fake all he wanted was attention and now when something bad actually happen they wont believe him because they think that he is lying.
This situation reminds me of a similar situation in my own life.It happened when my brother dressed up as a clown and i got scared and i ran and later then i found out it was my brother and i got mad because i was scared by him and in the book "Thing That Go Bump In The Night" they get chased by a beast .

the boy at the top of the mountain

My book is from the same author as the #1 new York times bestseller the boy in the striped pajama. my book is The boy at he top of the mountain by john boyne. The book is about a boy named Pierrot becomes an Orient and he need to leave home for a better way for a better life with his aunt Beatrix. Pierrot lives in pairs and he needs to leave and him and his aunt left. They don't know what is coming up fr them. world war two is coming. when he left he did not know what danger was coming for him.
This book reminds me of wonder because at the end in pairs a girl had to run away from hear home. and my persinl connection to this book is when we learned about the holocaust.  When i wand to stay home and mu mom left and he was gone for a long time and i did not know what i was doing and my mom was out for like 4 hours. This is like when Pierrot was in the train and he was doing something knew and did not know about anything that was going on.

Scat

The book I am reading is called scat. "Scat" is a book written by Carl Hiaasen, Scat is about two friends in the state of Florida named Marta and Nick in Mrs. Starch biology class. Everyone is afraid of Mrs. Starch... except for one person: Duane (smoke) Scrod Jr. When Mrs. Starch catches Smoke picking at a pimple instead of reading about the Calvin Cycle she humiliates him by telling him to write a 500 worded essay about pimples. So Smoke gets really angry and bites and swallows the pencil she was waving at him then storms out of the Class. Then Mrs. Starch moves on and tells the children about the field trip they are taking the next day to the "Black Vine Swamp". Then, the next day everyone in all three biology classes board the bus to go to the "Black Vine Swamp", except for Smoke. Nick is very excited about going because he wants to see a black Panther and catch it on video. They are only at the Black Vine Swamp for a short amount of time because a small wildfire starts while they are having lunch. Then when they are all at the bus Mrs. Starch says she has to go back to get Libby Marshall's Asthma Inhaler: but Mrs. Starch never came back and she became a missing person but then strangely she sends a letter to the Headmaster saying she was going on Vacation for a family emergency but Dr. Dressler (the headmaster) doesn't buy it but decides to let it go because Mrs. Starch would eventually come back. Meanwhile, in Mrs. Starch biology class Nick and Marta are anxious for Mrs. Starch to come back so that Mr. Wendell Waxmo a mean wacky teacher can leave and on Mr. Waxmo's second day Smoke comes into the classroom as a very different person. So Nick and Marta decide to find out what is really going on but when they go in too deep they go into a whirl of trouble.

Nick and Marta remind me of myself because when they think something is wrong they go and investigate and find out what is wrong and they fix it. Whenever I try to solve a problem I ask a series of  questions and then I turn those into theories. Nick and Marta take the answers from the questions and develop that into a theory. They also don't give up and they keep on asking questions. I don't give up until I get answers so I just keep annoying them until I get my answers.

In Conclusion, Scat by Carl Hiaasen is about two students Nick and Marta who go and investigate when their biology teacher Mrs. Starch goes missing and Duane Scrod Jr. (Smoke) is involved somehow. Nick and Marta remind me of myself because they don't give up when they are curious and I don't either. They also solve their mysteries by annoying people until they get their answers. Finally, Nick and Marta remind me of myself because the always solve their mysteries in the end.

The Scorch Trials

I'm reading The Scorch Trials, the second book of a five book series, by James Dashner. This book is outstanding so far. It starts right away with action which will always catch any reader's attention. This book starts with Teresa and Thomas talking to each other telepathically to keep each other company during the night, trying to help take away each other's fears and night terrors from the horrible experiences they had in the maze only the day before. This was right after they had been "saved' by a facility that was against W.I.C.K.E.D- the people that put the Gladers into the maze-. They sat there in silence getting their memories back until Teresa suddenly vanishes after saying that something was wrong. Once Teresa vanished, Thomas woke up to Gladers running around and seeing bloody, zombie-like people called Cranks screaming at their windows saying, "Kill me! Kill me! Kill me!". The boys escaped the room they were locked in and behind the door was darkness filled with the stench of death. They turn the lights on only to see that the people who saved them that night were dead, hanged to what appeared to be a few hours ago. This is when sudden panic overcame him, he didn't know where Teresa was and she wasn't answering his telepathic messages.
When they found another room in the building they discovered another boy named Aris. He had the telepathic gift too. After this meeting that they had, they went back out of the room to discover all sorts of weird things, the bodies were gone, the windows were bricked up and all sorts of other things. Thomas tries once more to contact Teresa and it becomes apparent that her memory has been wiped again and she doesn't remember Thomas.

I have never been in a situation where I'm stranded in a little building not knowing who I am or where I have come from, but, I can still relate to some of the feelings that the main characters are going through. First off, I can definitely relate the friendship that Thomas and Teresa have together because I have that with my friend. We have been l super close ever since we met. I can't even imagine one day they just forgot who I was because that would mean a huge part of my life would be striped from me leaving me devastated.

I love how James Dashner continues to leave me wanting to read more because of all of the mystery around the writing of the future technology, diseases and organizations. I want to know how all of the weird things keep happening and what caused the cranks to go insane. I also love the way the author, James Dashner, was able to continue the first book the maze runner in such a smooth and seamless line. I can't wait until I finish this book to see if the next book is connected to the one before it as well.

Insurgent

I am reading Insurgent.  The author is Veronica Roth she has a series that is linked to this book it is called the divergent series that has four books including this one so far. This series has several genres such as science fiction, Utopian and dystopian fiction, romance novel, and young adult fiction. This book has won quite a few awards such as the  Goodreads Choice Awards Best Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction, awards and much more. This book is carried after the book divergent to understand this book u should read the book divergent, divergent is about a family, tris's family, all of the people who live in Chicago have to go to a choosing ceremony which is where they choose their future. At this ceremony you individually go up to the stage to choose your personality such as candor- the honest, abnegation- is the selfless, dauntless- the brave, erudite- the intelligent, amity- the peaceful. When Tris goes up to the stage and slits her hand and drops her blood  into the dauntless bowl she had no clue what she was getting herself into, once the ceremony was over she was officially a dauntless member. She then had to go through a number of circuits to try and stay alive.
This character reminds me of someone I know because they always like to take risks in their life even though it may  get them hurt. They also try to keep their emotion a secret while they are around people they aren't comfortable around or who they don't know and so does Tris. This character reminds me of myself because she is a risk taker and so I am sometimes. This situation reminds me of some point in my life because when I was in Punta Cana I went sky diving into the ocean and I am afraid of heights but it was so much fun and i'm glad i decided to do it.
I began to think that this book has many relations to my life. If I were Tris, I would have already went for going past the wall at this point. I noticed that when they make bad things happen and when they fix the bad things they get rewarded to be the hero. I was surprised that Tris didn't get shot when there was shots being taken when they were running. The character I most admire is Tris because she isn't afraid to stand up for her beliefs and she is fearless. I really like this book because I can relate to the things that happen in it.
